It’s kind of mindblowing to see the visual evidence that a cross-section of images uploaded on one date in Fotolog’s 5+ years turns up. It’s not that things are so different now, although when you go from 10 to 10 million, yeah, there’s gonna be a bit of change involved. What’s most striking is what remains the same: how much we are still compelled, as I noted last year in fotolog.book, to “see for ourselves exactly what the 21st century looks like,” and to share our “daily visions, revisions, and revelations with each other, and the world.” Whether by luck or design (and the best things in life always enjoy both), Fotolog looks like it’s on its way to becoming the world’s diary.
