We Are All Photographers Now. A huge show (including the photos above) in Lausanne, Switzerland, that you can contribute to. Now. Upload your photo(s) and they will be displayed in the museum’s galleries, and possibly chosen—by a computer, at random—for printing and week-long stay on the gallery wall. There’s no reason to doubt the curators at the Musée de l’Elysée when they say that “this is the first major museum project to undertake a comprehensive overview of the digital revolution as it impacts on everyone.”
We Are All Collectors Now. Gallery owner and Daily F’log interviewee Jen Bekman’s exciting new project, 20×200, will give you the opportunity to buy selected high-quality prints, both photographs and works on paper, for $20 each. As Jen writes in GOOD Magazine, “These $20 prints are the gateway drug of the art world. Once your new acquisition has found its rightful place in your home, you’ll be hungry for more.”

Sliding Scale. When attempting to describe the immensity of the universe in understandable concepts, nothing comes close to the power and elegance of Charles and Ray Eames’ classic movie Powers of 10. Above and Beyond. Photographer and filmmaker Michael Benson indeed went beyond the strictures of science and documentary photography to create his large, full-color composite views of four of the more mysterious worlds in our solar system: Mars, Venus, Europa, and Io. Thirty prints are on view for the next year at the American Museum of Natural History, in New York City. (They’re also in his 2003 book, Beyond.)
Location, Chicago. Another photographer who always seems to go beyond the possible is Mark Powell, aka location_iceburg, who we profiled a while ago. Mark has a show up through May 5 at a gallery called 40000, in Chicago. Congrats!
